SUBJECT:		K.P.D. Looking to Immediately Fill Openings for Corrections Officer

GENERAL NARRATIVE
The Kingsport Police Department is looking to immediately fill openings for the position of Corrections Officer in the Kingsport City Jail. A career as a Corrections Officer can be extremely rewarding in its own right, but it can also provide outstanding experience to serve as an excellent stepping stone to a career as a Police Officer. Individuals 18 years of age or older who are interested in a criminal justice career are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted year-round as long as openings exist. The salary for a Kingsport Police Department Corrections Officer has recently been increased and starts at $15.37 per hour or $31,969 per year. All uniforms, equipment, and training are provided at no cost to the employee.
