| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| On the morning of May 29, 2021 the Kingsport Police Department Traffic Unit responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Pearl Lane near Browder Road in Kingsport. While it is currently unknown exactly what time the crash occurred, it was discovered at approximately 6:00 AM. The findings of the investigation thus far are as follows:
A gray 2020 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck, believed at this time to be driven and solely occupied by Matthew Paul Chauvin, was eastbound on Pearl Lane, traveling toward Browder Road, when for unknown reason(s) it left the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The truck came to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Mr. Chauvin was killed in the crash. This incident remains under active and ongoing investigation by the K.P.D. Traffic Unit; therefore, no additional details are available for release. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who may have any information that might assist with the associated investigation, is asked to contact K.P.D.
