| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| On the afternoon of Saturday, April 25, 2020 Kingsport Police Department Corrections Officers discovered an in-custody death of a prisoner who was incarcerated in the Kingsport City Jail.
As per Department protocol, and in the interest of maintaining complete transparency, Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were requested to respond to conduct an independent investigation. As this investigation is still in progress, no further details will be released at this time. Any future inquiries regarding this matter should be directed to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation or the Office of the Sullivan County District Attorney General. |
