| SUBJECT: | Kingsport Police Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Collision on West Stone Drive | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| On February 2, 2020 at approximately 11:00 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on West Stone Drive near Fairmont Avenue in Kingsport. Due to the seriousness of the crash, the K.P.D. Traffic Unit has been called to the scene.
As of the time of issuance of this news release, all westbound lanes of West Stone Drive at Fairmont Avenue are closed to traffic. The lanes will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so. The investigation into the crash has just begun; therefore, absolutely no further details are currently available. Additional information will be released at an appropriate point in the investigation, which will likely not be until sometime the following day at the earliest. In the meantime, motorists are strongly urged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route, so as to avoid unnecessary congestion and delays, and prevent endangering first responders working at the scene. Anyone already in the immediate area is asked to be patient, use caution, and obey all detours and traffic instructions. |
