NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Community Partners Join Together for Common Goal of Encouraging Seatbelt Use
DATE: November 15, 2019
GENERAL NARRATIVE
The Kingsport Area Safety Council (KASC) has partnered with local Hardee’s restaurants and the Kingsport Police Department to encourage seatbelt use. Signs are being placed on area Hardee’s properties at the parking lot exits to remind patrons to buckle up as they leave.

On November 14, 2019, one of these signs was placed at the Hardee’s located at 1401 South John B. Dennis Highway in Kingsport. Pictured in the accompanying photos are members of the KASC Board of Directors, Hardee’s employees, and Kingsport Police Officers along with a close-up of the actual sign.

The Kingsport Area Safety Council, of which the Kingsport Police Department is a member agency, was formed in 1944 with a mission similar to the National Safety Council, but at the local level. KASC conducts monthly community safety awareness meetings, facilitates an annual educational safety seminar, and supports numerous safety-oriented community projects throughout the year.
