| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| The Kingsport Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident.
On October 17, 2019 at approximately 7:30 PM, K.P.D. Patrol Officers were on the scene of a completely unrelated matter near the intersection of East Stone Drive at New Beason Well Road when they were approached by an injured individual who appeared to have sustained at least one gunshot wound. That individual has been transported to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment. The shooting incident itself remains under active investigation. Detectives are still trying to piece together what actually happened, with many factors, to include exactly when and where the shooting occurred, remaining uncertain. As such, no further information is available for release at this time. Additional details will be shared if and when they become available, but only at the appropriate point in the investigation. |
