|The City of Kingsport Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer, also commonly referred to as Jailer, with the Kingsport Police Department. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2019. Individuals 18 years of age or older who are interested in a criminal justice career are encouraged to apply. Applicants are asked to only apply once, as weeding out duplicate applications hampers efficiency.
As Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) regulations require an equal number of male and female Corrections Officers on staff, the current vacancy is only for a female Corrections Officer. Male Corrections Officer positions are presently fully staffed.

The starting salary for a Kingsport Police Department Corrections Officer is $13.73 per hour or $28,558.00 annually.
