SUBJECT: Detectives Attempting to Identify Suspect in Check Forgery Investigation

GENERAL NARRATIVE
On February 6, 2019 a local citizen reported to the Kingsport Police Department that two of her personal checks had been stolen from her residence at some point over the past couple of months. Those stolen checks were subsequently forged and passed by an unknown suspect.

After further investigation, K.P.D. Detectives located surveillance video footage of a white female adult suspect in the act of passing one of the checks at a local financial institution.

A photograph of that suspect, taken from that footage, has been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes her is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
