SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Department Vice and Narcotics Unit Investigations Yield 28 Felony Drug Indictments

GENERAL NARRATIVE
As a result of multiple extensive, active, and ongoing investigations by the Kingsport Police Department Vice and Narcotics Unit, 28 Indictments for numerous felony drug offenses have recently been handed down by a Sullivan County Grand Jury.

Thirteen (13) of these indicted individuals (listed in a table below) have already been arrested. Derrick Lewis (a.k.a. “Pikey”) was among those already arrested. Mr. Lewis was arrested by the Kingsport Police Department on February 12, 2019 during a traffic stop. At the time of his arrest, he had a large amount (nearly 3 ounces) of white rock like substance (believed to be Crack Cocaine) concealed in the groin area of his pants. He was also driving without a license.

An area-wide warrants check revealed that Mr. Lewis was also wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Scott County, VA for the Sale of Crack Cocaine. In addition to his original charges that resulted from the Sullivan County Grand Jury indictment, he incurred the following charges incident to arrest: 1) Sale and Delivery of Over 26 Grams of Cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a Park, 2) No Driver License, and 3) Fugitive from Justice.

As of the time of issuance of this news release, fifteen (15) of these indicted individuals (listed in a table below) remain still wanted and at large. Anyone finding their own name on that list is strongly encouraged to contact the Kingsport Police Department at 423-246-9111 or respond to the Kingsport Justice Center in a timely manner to make arrangements to turn themselves in.
