As of the time of issuance of this update, both suspects remain wanted and at large. The criminal charges in this case will likely be amended at a later date. This continues to be an active investigation by the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division. As such, and in the interest of future prosecution, no additional details will be released.

As previously released:

On February 4, 2019 at approximately 5:45 PM, Kingsport Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a shooting incident at Stonecrest Apartments, formerly known as Model City Apartments, located at 1000 Stonegate Road in Kingsport.

Upon arrival, Officers located two victims, one white male adult and one black female adult, who had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported by Sullivan County EMS to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The male victim, identified as Trevor L. Reed, succumbed to his injuries and died shortly after arrival. As of the time of issuance of this news release, the female victim remains on life support; therefore, her identity will not be released.

A resultant investigation by the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division has identified two suspects, Joseph Dale Clark, II (AKA “JoJo”) and Alexander M. Hamilton, as the individuals responsible.

The exact motive remains part of an ongoing investigation and will not be released; however, this incident is not believed to have been a random act. All of the individuals involved are believed to have been acquainted prior to the incident.

Warrants have been obtained, charging Mr. Clark and Mr. Hamilton with 1) Second Degree Murder and 2) Attempted Second Degree Murder. As of the time of issuance of this news release, both remain wanted and at large. Both should be considered armed and dangerous.
