|Update: On the evening of August 31, 2018, the Kingsport Police Department was officially notified that Hunter D. Engle had presented himself to law enforcement authorities in a neighboring jurisdiction, verifying that he was safe and sound. He was subsequently removed from the NCIC database, and is no longer considered a missing person.
As previously released:
On August 29, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM, Hunter D. Engle was reported as a missing person to the Kingsport Police Department by his grandmother. She stated that she had not seen or heard from him for several months.
While there is currently no specific reason to believe he is in imminent danger, his grandmother did share some factors from his personal history that lead her to be concerned for his overall welfare. As such, he has been entered into the NCIC database as a missing person.
