SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Searching for Possibly Stolen Felony Hit and Run Vehicle (Update #2)

GENERAL NARRATIVE
Update: The suspect is now in custody. Additional information will be released at an appropriate point in the investigation. All media inquiries regarding this incident should be directed to the Kingsport Justice Center.

As previously released:

Update: The vehicle is believed to have crashed in Hawkins County in the vicinity of Volunteer High School. The female passenger is believed to be in custody; however, the male driver is believed to have fled the scene on foot. Officers from the Kingsport Police Department and the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office are searching the surrounding area.

The suspect is believed to be a white male with dark hair, wearing a striped shirt and khaki pants or shorts. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately.

As previously released:

On August 27, 2018 as of 10:45 AM, the Kingsport Police Department is searching for a possibly stolen felony hit and run vehicle. The vehicle in question is a white 2011 Range Rover sport utility vehicle with heavy front end damage. The vehicle was involved in a felony hit and run collision in the Lynn Garden area.

The vehicle was last seen on Clouds Ford Road at Duke Street headed toward Carters Valley and was occupied by a white male driver and a white female passenger. Anyone who sees it or knows its current whereabouts is asked to promptly contact Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
