NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Suspect Sought in Lowe’s Felonious Shoplifting Investigation
DATE: November 30, 2017
CASE #: 17-033446
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On November 22, 2017 at approximately 5:15 PM, an unidentified white male suspect shoplifted over $1,500 in merchandise from Lowe’s, located at 2324 West Stone Drive in Kingsport. The suspect passed all checkout register points and exited the store pushing a shopping cart overflowing with tools and other merchandise, with no attempt to pay.

A Lowe’s loss prevention employee confronted the man in the parking lot, at which point he abandoned his loot and fled the scene in a maroon Ford Ranger compact pickup bearing a State of Virginia issued license plate. The loss prevention employee noticed a woman occupying the passenger seat of the pickup as it left the parking lot.

The suspect was captured on store surveillance video in the act of the crime. A photo taken from that footage has been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
