NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: K.P.D. Searching for S.U.V. in Hit and Run Investigation
DATE: November 30, 2017
CASE #: 17-034252
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On November 30, 2017 at approximately 7:00 AM, a red sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer or similarly styled S.U.V., was involved in a hit and run crash on West Stone Drive at University Boulevard in Kingsport. The S.U.V. was traveling eastbound on Stone Drive and had just entered the city limits from Mount Carmel when it struck another vehicle stopped at the red light and fled the scene.

In the aftermath of the crash, the S.U.V. was recorded by a traffic intersection camera. A photo of the S.U.V. taken from that footage has been included in this release. A short clip of the actual video has been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the link below:

The S.U.V. will most likely have fresh damage to the front end and/or driver’s side of the vehicle. Anyone who recognizes this vehicle, or who may know the identity of the driver or owner, is asked to promptly contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
