NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Detectives Attempting to Identify Felonious Shoplifter of $3,100 in Pet Medication
DATE: May 11, 2017
CASE #: 17-009322
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On two separate occasions on April 20 and 21, 2017 an unidentified man shoplifted numerous pet flea and tick preventative medications and collars (total value over $3,100) from Tractor Supply, located at 2606 Minnich Trail in Kingsport. The suspect is believed to have removed a large sprayer from its packaging and utilized the then empty box to conceal his loot without actually paying for it.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, likely in his 40s, with a mustache, goatee, and long blonde hair. He appears to have attempted to conceal his long hair under a ball cap; however, it was revealed when his cap was inadvertently removed. Pictures of the suspect, taken from surveillance video are included in this release.

The Kingsport Police Department apologizes for the blurry nature of these photos. Unfortunately, we have no control over the quality of images captured by privately owned surveillance equipment.

Also included in this release is a photo of examples of the types of medications stolen to include products from K9 Advantix, Frontline, and Seresto. Due to the sheer quantity of products stolen, it is highly doubtful that they were obtained for individual use, and were more than likely stolen for the purpose of reselling.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect or who may have any information regarding the reselling of these stolen items is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
