SUBJECT: Power Outage on Fort Henry Drive Effecting Traffic Control Devices and Area Businesses
DATE: December 1, 2016
On December 1, 2016 at approximately 11:00 AM, the Kingsport Police Department was notified of a significant power outage on Fort Henry Drive at the intersection of Thornton Drive in the vicinity of Wal-Mart, located at 3200 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. This outage has effected traffic lights, residences, and businesses in the immediate area.

American Electric Power (A.E.P.) personnel are currently working to rectify the problem and restore power; however, the current prediction is that the power will remain out in that area for the remainder of the afternoon.

Motorists in the immediate area are urged to exercise caution and patience and obey all traffic instructions. Motorists not yet in the area are strongly encouraged to avoid the area completely, and seek an alternate route so as to avoid unnecessary delays and decrease overall traffic congestion.
