SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Release Surveillance Video of Charley’s Steakery Burglary in Hopes of Identifying Culprit
DATE: September 26, 2016
CASE #: 16-016059
This news release has been re-submitted complete with photos omitted from original posting.

On July 29, 2016 at approximately 9:00 PM an unknown white male suspect burglarized Charley’s Steakery in the Kingsport Town Center (Fort Henry Mall), located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. Just a moment after employees closed the restaurant and left for the evening, the suspect unlawfully entered the business through an apparently unsecured back door.

Once inside, he appeared to be very familiar with the business and its procedures, going directly to a set of keys, and then immediately using the keys to access an office and a drawer where money was routinely stored. He then fled the scene with an unspecified amount of cash.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras inside the restaurant, and photos taken from that footage have been included in this release. Two clips of the actual video have been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the links below:

Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
