NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: K.P.D. Detectives Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Aurawood Heights Burglar
DATE: August 24, 2016
CASE #: 16-017609
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On August 16, 2016 at approximately 3:30 AM, an unidentified white male suspect committed a residential burglary in the 300 block of Rolling Drive in the Aurawood Heights neighborhood of Kingsport. The suspect appears to have unlawfully entered the residence as well as one unlocked vehicle, while an attempt to enter a second vehicle was thwarted due to the vehicle being locked.

This same suspect is believed to be involved in other residential and auto burglaries throughout the Aurawood Heights neighborhood, including locations on Packing House Road, Aurawood Drive, Joann Drive, and Rolling Drive. The Kingsport Police Department would like to issue the following advisories to residents of that neighborhood:

1) Please keep the doors to your residences, garages, utility sheds, and vehicles locked at all times, and keep items of value out of plain view.

2) Please report any and all suspicious or criminal activity to law enforcement immediately, even if nothing is actually stolen from your residence or vehicle.

The August 16th incident was captured by private security cameras at the residence. Several photos of the suspect taken from that surveillance footage have been included in this release. Two clips of the actual footage have been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the links below:
