|On March 18, 2016 at approximately 3:45 PM, an adult female was shopping at Dollar Tree, located at 2400 West Stone Drive in Kingsport. She noticed that a man had been standing right behind her for a few moments, so she stepped forward to allow him to pass her in the aisle. As she stepped forward, the man stepped right up behind her again.
She turned and noticed that he had his cell phone held down next to her buttocks recording her on video. When she attempted to walk away, the man grabbed her buttocks and exclaimed, “Nice (expletive deleted).” In self-defense, she turned and struck him in the mouth with some merchandise she was carrying. The man then fled the scene on foot toward another nearby business.
Through further investigation, Kingsport Police Detectives were quickly able to identify the suspect in question as David Eric Lambert. Mr. Lambert was just recently arrested for six counts of stalking in similar incidents that occurred the previous month. In the previous incidents, he only stalked and filmed his victims, while in this incident he clearly escalated his methodology by assaulting his victim.
Detectives obtained a warrant charging Mr. Lambert with Stalking and Sexual Assault. On the evening of March 22, 2016 he was arrested on the K.P.D. warrant in Virginia. He currently remains incarcerated in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield awaiting extradition back to Kingsport. As previously released:
On February 28, 2016 a woman called the Kingsport Police Department to report an incident that had occurred the previous day at Hobby Lobby, located at 1905 North Eastman Road in Kingsport. She said that as she and her sister were shopping in the store, they noticed a man stalking them and using his cell phone to record them on video. On March 3, 2016 at approximately 4:00 PM, Mr. Lambert was arrested on the outstanding warrant in Scott County, Virginia.
