NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Identity Thief Sought by Kingsport Detectives for Felony Credit Card Fraud
DATE: March 4, 2016
CASE #: 16-004190
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On February 18, 2016 at approximately 6:30 PM, a suspect used a credit card to purchase approximately $2,400 in merchandise from Best Buy, located at 2716 East Stone Drive in Kingsport. Further investigation revealed that the credit card had been fraudulently obtained via identity theft.

Prior to the purchase at the Kingsport Best Buy Store, the credit card account was originally opened at the Johnson City Best Buy Store. The account was fraudulently opened in the name of an Ohio identity theft victim who had never visited either store.

A review of store surveillance video revealed footage of the suspect during the transaction at the Kingsport Best Buy Store. Photos taken from that footage have been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
