NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Detectives Seeking Suspect in Residential Burglary
DATE: February 26, 2016
CASE #: 16-003604
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On February 22, 2016 at approximately 11:15 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a residence in the 2000 block of Fairview Avenue in Kingsport. Upon arrival, they located a broken window on the rear of the residence as well as a back door that was ajar. The officers searched the premises; however, nobody was located.

The homeowner responded and surveyed her residence to determine if anything had been stolen. The house had been ransacked; however, the only thing that initially appeared to be missing was a single pillowcase.

A check of in-home surveillance video footage showed what looks to be a single white male suspect inside the residence. It appears that he entered through the window, dumped out several drawers, removed a pillowcase from a pillow (most likely for the purpose of collecting his loot), but then exited through the door after being scared off by the alarm.

This same home was previously burglarized approximately seven months earlier.

Several photos of the suspect taken from surveillance video have been included in this release. A clip of the actual footage has been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the link below. Please note that the suspect does not appear until about 20 seconds into the clip.
