NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: K.P.D. Detectives Attempting to Identify Suspect in Early Morning Convenience Store Burglary
DATE: October 8, 2015
CASE #: 15-020162
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On September 15, 2015 at approximately 4:30 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to an alarm at the Roadrunner Market, located at 1045 Bloomingdale Pike in Kingsport. Upon arrival, officers observed that the glass front door of the business had been shattered. The officers checked the interior of the building and the surrounding area for a possible suspect, but he had apparently already fled the scene. They did, however, locate a metal pry bar on the floor and shoe prints on the counter.

A review of surveillance video revealed that what appears to be a slim white male in his late teens or early twenties broke the glass with the pry bar to gain entry into the store. He jumped over the counter and stole multiple cartons of cigarettes with a total value of approximately $135. He then fled the scene in a 4-door sedan of unknown make and model on Bloomingdale Pike headed toward West Stone Drive.

Photos of the suspect and the vehicle taken from the surveillance video have been included in this release. Actual clips from the video footage have been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the links below:
