SUBJECT: Two Pickup Drivers Sought in Hit and Run that Destroyed McDonald’s Flagpole
DATE: August 25, 2015
CASE #: 15-018126
On August 20, 2015 at approximately 11:00 PM, a vehicle ran over a curb and struck a metal flagpole in the parking lot of McDonald’s, located at 4300 West Stone Drive in Kingsport. The pole was completely broken off from the concrete pedestal and knocked into a nearby drainage ditch.

A review of surveillance video footage determined that the vehicle in question was a white pickup truck that appeared to be a full-size Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra with an extended cab and a tool box mounted in the bed. The white pickup became stuck on the curb and/or flagpole pedestal during the incident.

A few minutes later, a second pickup arrived in the parking lot and pulled the white pickup back into the parking lot, allowing it to leave the scene of the crash. The second pickup appeared to be a full-size Dodge Ram with a 4-door cab.

The value of the destroyed flagpole was estimated to be $800. Photos of both pickups are included in this release. Both drivers are being sought by Detectives for questioning in the incident.

Anyone who recognizes either of these pickups or who may be able to provide any information to Detectives which may help them solve this case is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
