|Kingsport Police Detectives are investigating multiple instances of credit/debit card fraud committed during the month of June 2015, all of which are believed to involve the same suspect. In most, if not all, of these cases, the original credit/debit card was still in the possession of the victim, indicating that their card had somehow been cloned.
Three of the four cases occurred within minutes of each other (6:15 PM, 6:20 PM, and 6:43 PM) on June 16th with the fourth case occurring just over a week earlier. In all four cases the cards were used to make significant purchases ($215.70, $211.17, $104.89, and two charges of $206.95) at different Walgreens stores in Kingsport.
The suspect in these cases is a black male who is driving what appears to be a black Ford Focus or similarly styled compact 4-door sedan. This was determined after he and his vehicle were captured on Walgreens surveillance video when one of these incidents occurred. Images of the suspect and his vehicle have been included in this release.
Anyone who recognizes this individual or his vehicle, or who may have any additional information which may help Detectives solve this case is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
