NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Suspect Sought in Fraudulent Use of Stolen Debit Card
DATE: May 1, 2015
CASE #: 15-005632
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On the evening of March 14, 2015 a woman’s purse was stolen while she was at a bowling alley in Johnson City, TN. Among other items in the stolen purse was the victim’s debit card. Sometime after midnight, the card was fraudulently used to make purchases at three different locations in Kingsport including Wal-Mart, located at 3200 Fort Henry Drive, and two separate Exxon gas stations. The combined total of the three fraudulent transactions was $72.48.

A white male suspect was caught on surveillance video during the Wal-Mart transaction. The suspect was believed to possibly be traveling in a light colored compact sport utility vehicle with the spare tire mounted on the tailgate.

Photos of the suspect and the possible suspect vehicle are included in this release. In one of the photos, what appears to be a fairly large tattoo is visible on the back of the suspect’s left leg. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
