SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Investigating Wednesday Afternoon Bank Robbery

On April 15, 2015 at approximately 4:45 PM, Kingsport Central Dispatch was notified of an armed bank robbery that had just occurred at Regions Bank, located at 1717 East Stone Drive in Kingsport. Officers from the K.P.D. Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division immediately responded.

K.P.D. Detectives along with Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are in the preliminary stages of the investigation; therefore, no specific details are available at this time. Further information will be released at the appropriate point in the investigation.

A suspect was captured on surveillance video, and a photo taken from that footage has been included in this release. He appears to be a white male, in his mid to late twenties, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches in height with a stocky build. He has short hair and a thin mustache and goatee. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who recognizes him or sees him, should not approach him, but rather call detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
