NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Thief Steals 3 Year Old Child’s Toy Police Car
DATE: March 19, 2015
GENERAL NARRATIVE
“Car 54, Where Are You?”

Many people will recognize this as the title of an early 1960’s sitcom featuring two New York City police officers, but “054” is also the unit number displayed on a battery powered replica black and white Dodge Charger police car that was stolen recently from the yard of a residence in the West Carters Valley Road area of Kingsport.

The toy car, with an approximate value of $300, was reported stolen on March 18th and was taken sometime during the preceding 48 hours. The car was the property of the 3 year old son of a Kingsport Police Officer and matches the officer’s full-size K.P.D. issued Dodge Charger Police Cruiser.

A photo of the toy car, with the 3 year old victim at the wheel, is included in this release. Anyone who may know who stole this child’s toy or where the stolen car may be located is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
