As previously released:

Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect in an auto burglary and two attempts to use a stolen debit card.

On December 30, 2013, sometime between 8:20 AM and 10:30 AM, an unknown suspect unlawfully entered an unlocked vehicle parked at a residence on Carolina Avenue in Kingsport. During this auto burglary, the suspect stole a radar detector and a purse. The purse contained, among other things, a debit card.

On the same date, at 10:30 AM, the suspect attempted to fraudulently use the stolen debit card at Zoomers, located at 1673 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. Also on the same date, at 11:40 AM, the suspect attempted to use the stolen debit card at Food City, located at 1205 North Eastman Road in Kingsport.

All three of these locations are within a short walking distance of each other, so the possibility exists that the suspect lives somewhere nearby. The suspect is white, and at the time of these offenses was wearing blue jeans, a red jersey with the number 25 on it, a black jacket with brown sleeves, and a black and white ball cap.

Several photographs taken of the suspect from surveillance video footage are included in this release. The actual surveillance footage has been made available on the K.P.D. YouTube Channel and can be viewed via the links below.
